Sequences of patch disturbance in a spatial eco-evolutionary model
2021, Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical SimulationAllometry in an eco-evolutionary network model
2020, Ecological ModellingCitation Excerpt :Moreover, through its combination with adaptive foraging it is possible for this predator-prey size-structure to emerge from an initially random network as an evolutionary result of dynamic models seeking stable webs. In previous work, we have refined (Abernethy et al., 2019a) and extended (Abernethy et al., 2019b) the Webworld eco-evolutionary food web model (Caldarelli et al., 1998; Drossel et al., 2001), which simulates the assembly and maintenance of a community of interacting species from an initial species and resource, using discrete traits to distinguish species and determine their feeding relationships. This model has been successful at constructing complex food webs with realistic properties and has been given considerable attention (Drossel et al., 2004; Lugo and McKane, 2008a; 2008b; McKane, 2004; Quince et al., 2002; 2005a; 2005b), however some weaknesses remain.
