Introduction

This introductory chapter outlines some of the problems and questions raised by Aristotle’s Eudemian and Nicomachean Ethics, namely the relationship between the two works as well as the related issue of the so-called common books. It also presents some of the main scholarly positions that have been adopted to deal with these problems. The second part of the chapter presents in outline the individual contributions to the volume.
